Programme Area Manager (Plumbing and Gas). Construction.
We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 20,000 learners studying with us on a wide range of courses. Our mission is to equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives.
The curriculum area of Construction is large and diverse and offers a range of apprentice, full time, evening and short courses programmes from level 1 to degree level.
Responsibilities include the direct line management of delivery staff including; Programme Leads, Lecturers, Trainer Assessors and designated support staff, contributing to the planning process, timetabling, health and safety for the designated areas, managing students and working as an integral member of the management team to ensure all learners receive an outstanding learning experience.
An ability to demonstrate a commitment to improving learning, teaching and assessment is essential together with a strong track record of effective performance management and quality improvement through demonstrating excellence in personal teaching practice.
You will have excellent team building and communication skills to drive improvements within the Programme Area in visionary and innovative ways to deliver outstanding results.
Substantial knowledge of the sector including the introduction of apprenticeship standards and full-time T-qualifications with the ability to plan the curriculum effectively is essential.
The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent with extensive industrial knowledge, hold a full teaching qualification and demonstrate a good understanding of quality assurance and data management.
