Our client is the main provider of further and higher education in Wiltshire and is fast on its way to becoming outstanding having achieved a good Ofsted grade in June 2015.
They are currently seeking a Theatre Technical Manager to join their successful Arc Theatre in Trowbridge. The main purpose of this role is to generate income according to targets agreed by the Curriculum Manager and Director of Curriculum and Campus whilst developing, planning and scheduling a Theatre Programme of Events. Within this role your main responsibilities will include ensuring that all performances, films, exhibitions, conferences, educational activities and the events presented at Arc Theatre are to the highest technical standards, providing technical support for the Performing Arts based programmes at Trowbridge and troubleshooting technical issues in relation to Performing Arts specialist equipment. You will also be expected to establish good working relationships with local groups, proactively promote the venue for hire as a means of increasing revenue and act as budget holder and take responsibility for all venue licensing needs including a personal licence to sell alcohol.
The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously and will have experience of planning productions, performances, exhibitions and events along with a flair for marketing and promotions. You will be IT literate, with knowledge of spreadsheets and ticketing systems. You will ideally have experience in or be willing to train in ground rigging, working at heights, and operating computer controlled lighting and sound desks. It is essential that you are a strong team player with experience of finance management and reporting and that you can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of quality at work. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills with internal college stakeholders and external agents. In addition the role will require some flexible working at evenings and weekends.
You should possess a personal bar licence or be willing to undertake training and you will be flexible and self-motivated in your approach.
