L3 Teaching Assistant

Part Time: 22.75 hours per week 
Temporary until Summer (with the potential to be extended for a further 2 years)

Robert Wilkinson is a large primary school based in Strensall on the outskirts and we pride ourselves on providing excellent learning and development for all our children. 

We are now looking for an energetic and engaging L3 Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis alongside a KS2 child with significant and complex learning difficulties. As the TA you would have a knowledge of Autism and an understanding of the difficulties experienced by children with significant and complex learning difficulties within a mainstream school.

The position is ideally suited to someone who can demonstrate a better understanding of autism, who is passionate about teaching and learning, and who believes in developing the true potential of all children. With a calm and positive disposition, you will nurture, inspire and motivate pupils whilst implementing clear boundaries and routines.

You need to have a Level 3 Education and Childcare qualification, a working knowledge of a preschool play experiences, and the ability to break down activities into small step teaching. Working with the class teacher on individually planned targets, you will provide ongoing assessments for learning.

The position requires you to work 8:45am – 12:30pm Monday – Friday, two lunches (probably Monday & Friday) 12:30 -1:30pm plus two hours planning time on an afternoon.
