We are seeking to recruit a well-qualified and enthusiastic lecturer in Science, specifically Biology, to join our team of highly qualified, professional science teachers. The teaching duties for the post will initially be on the Access to HE courses: Access to Biomedical Sciences, Access to Health and Health Sciences but could also include teaching on other courses within the department, for example: BTEC level 3 courses in Applied Science. The role also involves being a Personal Tutor, providing pastoral support, guiding and advising learners through the UCAS process as well as the research and writing of their independent project.

The role involves delivering high quality teaching and learning, curriculum planning, learning resource development, assessment of student work, feedback to students, monitoring of student progress, management of student records, student achievement and all associated administration.

The successful candidate will have a well developed and up to date knowledge and proven skills in teaching this subject to students of different ages, abilities and backgrounds, along with a commitment to continuous professional development, putting learner success at the centre of their practice.

This role requires a high level of professional knowledge, experience and understanding of the subject area, along with a relevant degree. Candidates will have relevant previous teaching experience along with a recognised teaching qualification and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and excellent IT and administrative skills.
