An exciting Community Fund Manager position with a leading professional body.

Position: Chemists Community Fund Manager
Location: Cambridge
Contract type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours a week
Salary: GBP39,242 to GBP43,602 per annum plus benefits

About the Role:
Our client seeks a Community Fund Manager to join them on a permanent full-time (35-hour week) basis. You will be based at their Cambridge Science Park office, with occasional UK travel. They could accommodate slightly earlier or later start/finish times and some working from home and/or from their London office, subject to business needs.
The Benevolent Fund of our client offers financial, practical and emotional support to individual members and their dependents. It is a linked charity to our client, and as such, they have beneficiaries at all career stages around the world.
They are going through significant and exciting developments to reach more people, to widen their charitable activities and be more relevant and accessible to current and potential beneficiaries. The Fund's primary purpose is the prevention and relief of poverty and they deliver advice and guidance, provide grants, and partner with a range of services, so that those in need get the most appropriate assistance.
As a Community Fund Manager, you will lead a small, passionate team to further these developments, and explore wider charitable initiatives to support their community.
Members helping members is at the heart of the Fund, which was set up nearly 100 years ago; as such, you will be responsible for developing the role of their member volunteers. You will be secretary to their Benevolent Fund Grants Committee, maintaining overall governance of the Fund. You will ensure that the Fund delivers appropriate charitable support, and that they remain relevant to the modern challenges facing their society.
About You:
The successful candidate will have proven management experience, ideally in a benevolent fund or other grant-awarding charity. You will have specialist knowledge in charity sector and/or welfare support and will have demonstrable experience of casework and/or managing sensitive personal information. You will also have experience of governance and decision-making in a charitable organisation, or equivalent.
Additionally, you will have experience of developing, implementing and delivering new services for individuals and will be able to build and use networks to share specialist knowledge and develop collaborations. You will also have excellent communications and project management skills, be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations and have the ability to relate to people at all levels. Experience of working with and/or managing volunteers is highly desirable as is experience of providing board/committee secretariat support is highly desirable. A degree in relevant subject, or equivalent training and qualifications would also be beneficial.
