Claims Handler, Sussex - Competitive Salary + Company benefits

A specialist insurer focusing on niche lines of insurance across worldwide markets are currently hiring within their Claims Team based in Sussex.

Reporting to the Head of Client Services and Relations, you will be working within the Legal Operations team with responsibility for administering and handling Legal ATE claims.

Responsibilities:

Communicate, liaise and negotiate professionally internally and externally to facilitate the handling of claims on best terms.
Read, understand and interpret policy wordings and client agreements and apply same correctly to claims accurately.
Set claims up properly on the day of receipt.
Administer the claim correctly within the internal system, accurately reserving for the anticipated costs.
Assess claim against the terms and conditions of the policy and take into account the underwriting facts of each case as well as updates throughout the life of the policy.
Complete the Claim Payment Form with accurate financial and claim details for referral/sign off.
Monitor and advise the Head of Client Services and Relations of any claim trends and patterns.
Advise the Head of Client Services and Relations of any breaches of the panel agreement and related policy terms and conditions.
Keep accurate and up to date records.

To apply:
Experience in the insurance/legal sector
Have an excellent telephone manner and the ability to gather and record information accurately.
Working knowledge of the litigation process and personal injury protocols.
Ability to deal with a variety of stakeholders (internal and external parties).
