The role will require you to to assist in the overall management and performance of the IT Systems and Product Development Team, including developing and maintaining both the public facing and internal websites, contributing to the development of a long term innovative web strategy, and ensuring that business processes are supported effectively by business and clinical systems within the organisation.

Job Spec

  • Responsible for a small number of national web applications
  • Ensure that business processes are supported effectively by business and clinical systems within the organisation. This will be done by managing change and on-going development of systems through the successful implementation of upgrades to existing systems and facilitating the smooth transition to new.

Essential Qualifications/Skills

Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in but not limited to:

  • ASP.Net (3.5 - 4.5)
  • C#
  • Entity Frameworks
  • MVC and OOP
  • Web Services and APIs
  • SQL/MS SQL
  • JavaScript/jQuery/Ajax
  • HTML5/CSS
  • IIS
  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent experience.)
  • Suitable technical professional qualification for a senior position e.g. MCSD or equivalent experience OR HND with suitable experience.
  • Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
  • Relevant training in Web and Systems technologies.

Essential Experience/Skills

  • Experience designing & developing large scale and high traffic online web applications using .NET technologies (mainly in C#/ASP.NET).
  • Experience designing & developing large scale and high traffic online web applications using .NET technologies (mainly in C#/ASP.NET).
  • Experience of developing and supporting for multiple web browsers including legacy browsers.
  • Experience in developing web applications to support mobile browsers.
  • Experience of software versioning and revision control systems such as SVN, Git or TFS; build deployment to production environments.
  • Experience in managed testing and automated testing procedures.
  • Significant experience in supporting and delivering large, complex and diverse organisational projects to tight deadlines.
  • Significant experience of managing/maintaining large and complex projects and systems that can affect business critical services.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects to a successful conclusion, with multiple customers/users, using structured methodologies.
  • Working with customers to gather user requirements and develop relevant specifications for both the customer and end users.
  • Proven ability to manage suppliers.
  • Experience of managing others on project team, take lead over certain team members regarding systems and processes.
  • Ability to forge long-term working partnerships with individuals and groups from internal and external departments and organisations.
  • Ability to write clear concise reports, letters, minutes and documents using a good standard of English.
