An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join a highly motivated and dynamic team in a long standing and rapidly expanding IT support company based in Frome, Somerset. This position is initially maternity cover but could lead to a longer term job offer.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage the Accounts Receivable processes.
- Manage the Accounts Payable
Payroll
- Pay Employee Expenses signed off by Manager
- Collate information from department heads and run monthly payroll
- Manage Bank Reconciliation
- Check VAT is allocated appropriately & Submit Quarterly VAT Return
- Management Accounts
- Remaining Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Review P&L for deposits, prepayments, margins etc.
- Prepare monthly management account and write corresponding Board Report
- Assist Finance Director with forecasting as required
- Manage Accounts Assistant
- Investigate and resolve more complex inquiries as required.
- Liaise with HR to ensure upkeep of company policies and staff contracts
Qualifications and Skills
- AAT qualified or other accounts certification.
- 4 years of accounting or finance related experience.
- Solid understanding of a general ledger accounts (Sage or Xero preferred)
- Proficient in general office applications and accounting software (particularly Word & Excel)
- Experience of preparing full Balance Sheet reconciliations and preparation of Management Accounts.
Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
- Organisational skills necessary and able to work to a deadline
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment.
- Training provided for the ConnectWise University, and the Xero Accounts system
- Experience is a necessity for this role and applicants should be confident in their ability to complete month end accounts to report to the finance director including both Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations. They should embrace the responsibility of owning the accounts function whilst having the ability to identify cost saving opportunities and increase bottom line by working with other members of staff.
