Be part of something diverse and join CGI as a Junior Project Manager on a large development and testing programme of work for a CGI public sector client. Would you like to be part of a growing company with the scale and strength to give your career in IT the best possible start? As a Junior Project Manager you will join a large programme of work that covers the full lifecycle of a typical software development programme from requirements capture and design through implementation, test and go live. You will join this fast paced and client facing delivery programme, working from the client sites based in Edinburgh.

Your future duties and responsibilities: As a Junior Project Manager you will assist Senior Project Managers and release managers on designated releases, with various management tasks as required.
You will be required to carry out day-to-day management tasks such as progress monitoring, observation monitoring, dashboard monitoring, risks and issues recording and updates. The role involves working with the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure regular required tasks and reports are completed. As Junior Project Manager you will also be required to deputise for the Senior Project Manager, as and when required.
This is a client facing role and so there will be plenty of stakeholder management opportunities.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role: The ideal candidate for this role will have had previous experience of working on projects either in an Agile or Waterfall environment. Some experience of basic Project management duties such as ownership of RAID activities is essential. It is essential that you are comfortable with being in a client facing role, and must have the confidence and communication skills to do so. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, who is looking to advance their Project Management skills and take on new challenges with minimal supervision.

A PRINCE 2 certification or experience in a PRINCE 2 environment is highly desirable. Experience of managing teams of technical people such as testers and developers would also be desirable, but is not essential. If you have experience of working within the public sector on projects that would be ideal too, but is not essential.
