About the role:

The College has a large and growing number of High Needs students and has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality learning support.  This is an exciting opportunity to lead the SEN curriculum in a growing area of the College’s offer. The post has been created to provide leadership and management of their successful provision for students with learning difficulties and disabilities, from pre-entry sensory learning for young people with profound, multiple and complex needs, to their growing provision for students with Autism and their Internship programmes.

Reporting into the Assistant Director for SEN and Additional Learning Support the post-holder will ensure that the college’s programmes meet the needs of young people with special educational needs and disabilities, with the emphasis on achievement and progression to further learning, work and independence.

As Head of Sen, you will be responsible for the operational management of the area, for curriculum development and for improving and assuring high quality. The post-holder will contribute positively to partnership working with schools and other external agencies to develop high-quality link and progression and transition opportunities and will work collaboratively with other college managers.
