We are recruiting two 1-2-1 Teaching Assistants for our alternative provision based in Eltham you will provide support to a young people with additional learning needs (Autism) as detailed on their Educational Health Plan. If you have previous experience as a Teacher or Teaching Assistant or want to pursue a career in teaching or similar field, we hope you will consider joining our strong team.

To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate your desire to work with young people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. The successful person will be working cross-curricular as a teaching assistant.

During your placement you will receive valuable in class experience by supporting the teacher in setting up classrooms, assisting pupils with their work and also engaging in extracurricular activities such as after school tuition.

Requirements

Commit to working full time for the rest of the academic year Experience in working with children (Voluntarily or non-voluntarily). This may include caring, coaching, mentoring, teaching, overseas, youth work, community work or volunteering in schools Possessing the essential components of the personal specification Attending review meetings Target setting with teaching and other support staff The role includes providing 1-2-1 support in lessons and supporting teachers to deliver individual learning programmes. You will be working in teams of Teaching Assistants, Teachers and other professionals who will support and mentor you.
