Family Support Officers/Engagement Worker?

Home-Start wants to see a society in which every parent has the support they need to give children the best possible start in life. Across the UK thousands of Home-Start volunteers visit families at home each week, supporting parents in situations such as isolation, bereavement, poverty, multiple births, disability, domestic abuse, illness or who are finding parenting a struggle. Funded by Staffordshire County Council we are looking to recruit:

Family Support Workers:

16 hour post    

Salary: NJC Point 14 (16,781) Pro Rata

To deliver tailored packages of intervention, support and practical help to families within the area of Newcastle Borough.

Family Services Engagement Worker:

16 hour postSalary : NJC Point 14 (16,781) Pro Rata

To engage families with universal services where required and identify the need for family support at an early stage.

Both posts require parenting experience, an understanding of the needs of families and educated to NVQ level 3, A level equivalent. Experience of working with families would be an advantage

Applicants must have use of their own car for which expenses are paid. Candidates will be subject to DBS checks at enhanced level.
