CAM Programmer

Working within a team of 11 CAM Technicians, the CAM team provide a service for the manufacturing departments of this highly successful engineering organisation based in Rotherham.

They have two vacancies, one is a rotating 5 day shift pattern Monday to Friday (6:00 - 14:15 Mon to Fri / 13:45 - 22:00 Mon to Thur 13:45 to 19:30 Fri) and one is weekend days shift (6:00 to 18:00 Fri - Sun). Shifts to be worked following an initial period of training . Appropriate shift premiums will be paid.

The role:
- To generate and verify CNC programs for the various machine tools using NX CAM software.
- Work on tool, method and production standards
- Regular liaison with all workshops, design and other associated departments
- Collaborate with workshop personnel on new machine methods.
- Review and save proven programs onto Admit/Teamcenter

The person:
- Currently studying or completed a Manufacturing Apprenticeship, or equivalent in experience
- An HNC in a related subject would be an advantage but not essential, as would previous experience in CAM software
- Technically versatile with an ability to attend to detail
- An excellent communicator both written and oral
- Good organisational skills
- Can work to tight deadlines whilst under pressure
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Good understanding of technical/engineering terms
- Machining experience on lathes and/or milling machines
- IT literate
- Desire to provide exceptional customer service- Eager to assist in the continuous improvement of the organisation
- Ability to promote, embrace and manage change
