Dignity has 45 crematoria and 900 Funeral Directors throughout the UK, as well as a pre-need funeral sales division and manufacturing division. 

We are now looking for a Grounds Person / Relief Cremator Technician to join our team and help to maintain a welcoming and peaceful environment where families can remember their loved ones.

What will I be doing? 

As a Grounds Person / Relief Cremator Technician, you will help to maintain our grounds, ensuring that we continue to provide a tranquil and pleasant environment for those remembering their loved ones. 

When required, you will also operate our cremators and ancillary equipment to ensure that a high quality funeral service is delivered. 

Specifically, your duties will involve: 

- Performing general grounds maintenance tasks 
- Carrying out general repairs 
- Building private gardens 
- Assisting visitors with any enquiries 
- Remaining sensitive to the needs of bereaved individuals 
- Acting as an ambassador for our business at all times 
- Suggesting ways to improve our service to the Manager 
- Carrying out cremations and preparing ashes 
- Ensuring the safe custody of cremated remains left in our care 

What do I need? 

- A full, valid driving licence 
- The willingness to learn 
- A commitment to delivering a first-class service 
- Excellent communication skills 
- An empathetic approach 

Ideally, you will have previous grounds maintenance and general repair experience, but this is by no means essential. 

We’re eager to hear from individuals who have experience as, or would like to become a, Grounds Person, Assistant Grounds Person, Gardener, Assistant Cremator Technician, Crematorium Assistant or Crematorium Technician.
