Where you'll work:

The company is currently looking for a Talented Senior Project Manager to join them and be part of the Business Intelligence & Analytics team to help their business improve and grow. You will be part of their UK wide Information Systems & Technology Team who are technical, innovative and strategic thinking individuals that all work effectively both as a team and individually. Their office in Kingswood in Staffordshire is a custom built facility acting as a centre of support services for the business affording a great opportunity to build a strong internal network, as you carry out your day to day role.

The Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) Senior Project Manager leads and manages business change projects underpinned by Information Technology to optimise, evolve and grow the Company. The role makes a significant contribution to their business strategy and requires skill and tenacity in the areas of business change, IT technology procurement, negotiation, multi-disciplinary and external resource management. The successful candidate will deliver impactful projects in the business and be directly responsible for project budgets and outcomes.

The digital transformation roadmap is ambitious and covers projects from developing mobile applications to simplify the life of employees, deploying IoT and machine learning to optimise operations as well as building trading platforms to create more value for our customers. You will therefore manage a portfolio of fast-paced and high-value projects and work with technical and business stakeholders in an agile way to deliver positive change

What you'll do

  • Engage with customers and stakeholder management
  • Manage activities of project team resources and stakeholders to deliver business change solutions
  • Build and lead teams consisting of vendors, contractors, internal functional colleagues, IS&T colleagues and corporate colleagues according to the domain of project
  • Initiate direct communication with specific customers, functional teams, executive leadership, sponsors, suppliers and IS&T teams on a range of topics related to business change project and negotiate with vendors and other stakeholders to achieve successful, timely project delivery
  • Direct others through specification, statements of work and other appropriate methods in the detailed design, coding, testing, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of underpinning information technology solutions
  • Drive projects to a successful conclusion, using Agile methodology
  • Prepare and present project plans, status reports, cost forecasts, risk and issues logs, options appraisals, cost benefit studies and recommend funding and resources

About your knowledge, skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or domain related subject area
  • Proven track record using different methodologies including Agile and Waterfall, with emphasis on Agile.
  • Extensive experience working in an Agile environment, with proven track record in Scrum and Kanban.
  • Formal project management qualification at practitioner level.
  • Experience of leading several separate projects involving business change.
  • Evidence of leading business change as a project manager with a mixture of external vendor provision, business stakeholder management and process
  • Experience in a commercial business including implementing new processes and technologies to produce lasting competitive advantage
  • Evidence of completing full project lifecycle from options appraisal to business change adoption and sustainability, using both Agile and Waterfall approaches.
  • Evidence of negotiating with service providers and driving selection through modern vendor engagement processes
  • Evidence of managing a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues as a successful project delivery team
  • Working knowledge of business improvement techniques
  • Strong evidenced negotiation/networking/leadership skills
  • Strong clear thinker having advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to meet objectives by influencing and collaborating across multiple teams
  • Strong Execution Excellence
