Role Overview:
GTM is a joint venture to deliver works for our client Southern Water. We are now looking for someone to undertake p roject management duties in accordance with the requirements of works contracts (associated with Southern Water Non-Infrastructure Framework Agreement) during the AMP6 period (2015 - 2020, likely to be extended to 2025) for the delivery of design and build water and wastewater projects as required across the Southern region.
The conditions of contract for the main contract are NEC3 Option C with Z clauses. The conditions of contract for subcontracts are based on NEC3 and aligned with the main contract.

Degree or HND Qualified in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Registered with the relevant Institution, be willing to undertake examinations associated with attaining ICE ECC Project Manager Accreditation.
Relevant CSCS card
SMSTS 5-day training
Knowledge of company management systems including:
Commercial reports
Procurement
Risk Management
Contractual knowledge in NEC forms of contract
Knowledge of current legislation
Strong drive to lead a safety oriented culture

Key Responsibilities:
- Management and control of the project/s as assigned, with responsibility for leading their delivery to meet programme and budget.
- Drive and monitor project performance against programme and forecast.
- Encouragement and creation of a teamwork culture, recognising the responsibilities of the line management structure.
- Manage and control the project/s to ensure coordination between, Design, Suppliers, Subcontractors, Delivery team and Client is effective.
- Understanding of Civil & MEICA elements and the inter-relationship required for efficient delivery of the project
- Responsibility for all project management functions, and ensuring the correct protocols are applied and followed.
- Manage the procurement of subcontracts.
- To maximise profitability, working within the requirements of the conditions of contract.
- Lead, advise and assist the delivery team in the project management of NEC3 contracts and subcontracts, logging effective communications, monitoring periods for reply and reminding team members as necessary.
- Provision of project management expertise
- Provision of accurate and timely project reports (both internal and external) and advice to the management team.
- Maintain project information to the contract using the established systems.
- Ensure the appropriate actions are taken to reduce or minimise commercial risk through the early warning, compensation events and the risk reduction processes.
- Lead, advise and assist the notification of compensation events, assessments and submission of quotations, and the contractual procedure to take contractual differences up to the point of dispute crystallisation where appropriate.
- Lead, advise and manage in all programme matters; acceleration, Key Dates and Completion Dates.
Experience and Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL
- You must have extensive relevant experience covering project management and a sound understanding of project risks and mitigation measures.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects including experience in design and build and the coordination of both Civil and MEICA construction/installation disciplines
- Understanding of NEC3 conditions of contract
- Demonstrable track record of delivering NEC3 contracts, being able to show personal contact with the actions required as part of the Contractor's or Project Manager's obligations under those contracts included in the track record.
- Procurement and management of subcontractors.
