Particularly in smaller organisations, the employees are often the Company’s best assets. Many SMEs are not large enough to warrant the costs of employing a full time HR presence, but at some point, everyone needs a helping hand so business owners can get on with the day to day running of their business. The HR Dept provides professional HR expertise and support at a cost that makes sense for SMEs. We become a company’s outsourced HR Department.   Due to business growth and expansion we are seeking to appoint an HR Advisor to provide HR support on an outsourced basis to businesses of between 2 and 250 people across West Berkshire and South Oxfordshire. Initially remote working, the role will relocate to an office within the West Berkshire / South Oxfordshire area.

A generalist role, key aspects include:

Advising business owners and managers both verbally and via email on all HR related matters and the necessary actions to be taken, encompassing all aspects of the employment lifecycle and change management, including:

  • Contracts of employment
  • Policies/Handbooks
  • Disciplinaries/Grievances
  • Restructures and Redundancies
  • Family Friendly Policies
  • TUPE
  • Performance management

Developing and implementing initiatives for the recruitment, development and retention of employees.

Organising and participating in delivery of workshops and seminars to existing and prospective customers on employment issues, such as; absence management, handling disciplinary & grievances, appraisals and performance management.

This is an exciting and rewarding job, and the ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified and commercially aware, with up to date knowledge of employment law and its practical application. They will also have strong organisational and communication skills, a proven track record at working in an advisory capacity at a senior level and know how to build credibility quickly with key stakeholders. The breadth and variety of the role means that they will thrive in an environment where there are conflicting pressures and demands, and be capable of delivering within that environment.

The job description for the role is attached. Please apply online to be considered, and include within your application your preferred hours and pattern of work.
