Commercial Manager (SC Cleared envt.) Glasgow 6 months - GBP400/day IN Scope of IR35

Please note that the client are looking for someone to start ASAP and the role sits within an SC Cleared environment. Please clearly state whether you have active SC Clearance on your application.

Key tasks and deliverables:

Lead contract negotiations with 3rd parties for the inclusion of GDPR specific contract clauses, including a focus on keeping 3rd party cost increases to a minimum; Ensuring internal contract owners are fully engaged and are briefed on the requirements to update existing contracts; Engaging internal and external legal teams as required to support updates to existing contracts; Work with programme team to support commercial activity in relation to GDPR Readiness Assessments; Gap Analysis; Policy and Procedure Review; Risk and Action Plans; Impact Assessments; Develop and analyse database extracts and turn them into commercial insight which informs high level commercial decisions; Maintain, manage and regularly update GDPR programme management tool and provide regular reports to line and programme managers on GDPR assurance progress; Work with stakeholders to develop a comprehensive understanding of personal data, including processors (and their subcontractors) to identify where personal data is processed in relation to 3rd party suppliers; Prepare, issue contractual changes to and co-ordinate responses from 3rd parties in all relevant GDPR; documentation, evaluate offers received and make recommendations; using and updating standard templates as appropriate; Identify and categorise the commercial GDPR risks, including designing and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies

Experience Required:

Strong baseline knowledge of Data Protection legislation and GDPR with the capacity to upskill and learn on the job;

Able to discuss data protection and information security requirements from a legal, risk, compliance and commercial perspective with key stakeholders;

Excellent knowledge of leading procurement practice governance and assurance principles, processes and practices;

A proven record of accomplishment of renegotiation contracts and extensive experience of public sector procurement;

Substantial track record of delivering complex procurement projects in a public sector environment;

Experience of strategic supplier relationship management;

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills;

Experience in interpreting contractual arrangements;

In-depth understanding of Public Procurement Regulations and Commercial principles;

Project Management experience; management; Prince 2 (or equivalent) or MCIPS accreditation is beneficial
