Our client in Ashton-Under-Lyne Greater Manchester, is a diverse and vibrant further education college that offers a wide range of course including A level and advanced level vocational study programmes, Apprenticeships and adult courses up to degree Level. They are now looking to recruit for a Higher Graduate Advisor to join them to provide first-level information, advice and guidance to target school/ college pupils, teachers and parents in relation to the benefits of Higher Education. This is a fixed term role until December 2018 with the expectation that additional funding will increase the contract for 2 years.  

Supporting target learners in schools and colleges to increase their awareness and readiness for Higher Education, you will act as a role model for pupils in the area, advocating the benefits of HE and liaise with staff in target schools and colleges to increase their engagement in (and awareness of) the Greater Manchester Higher Programme.

You will have a genuine desire to improve the life chances of learners. The College has an excellent reputation and this is a real opportunity for you to make a difference in people’s lives.

Candidates for this role must have an understanding of the widening participation agenda within higher education and of working on large scale collaborative projects. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you must have experience of establishing and managing relationships with staff in schools and colleges and of working on projects focused on the education of those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to engage others in order to build and maintain positive working relationships to support collaborative working is essential for the role.
