We are recruiting for an Area Sales Engineer to join our clients expanding UK sales team. They are an established company that have a reputation for exceptional customer service and producing high quality products that are fantastic value for money. With a head office in Watford they manufacture electrical components for general engineering industries and have a strong varied UK and global customer base.
The role of the External Sales Engineer is to provide in-depth technical product knowledge and support to our customers, along with first-class commercial sales capabilities, at all levels, for a wide range of electrical and mechanical (machinery) components.
The role covers the middle band of the UK from Lincoln and Peterborough to the East through to Shrewsbury to the West. This includes Nottingham, Leicester and Derby. The role is primarily field based but 3 days per fortnight will be spent at HQ in Watford.
You will need to be dynamic and enterprising with a passion for sales. A clean driving licence is essential as a company car is provided and business mileage is paid
What is expected of you?
To achieve sales targets and growth by providing an effective day to day customer interface throughout the sales area.
Promptly follow up all leads in order to make and effectively plan prospect or existing customer visits, ensuring that all personal prospects you generate are communicated to internal sales staff.
Efficient management and monitoring of all quotations, relating to area activities, for the purpose of producing profitable business
Regular sales forecasting and updating & identification of potential for new products appropriate to market.
Prepare and deliver Area sales-meeting presentations (internally)
Prepare and deliver technical presentations to prospects and customers
You will possess a recognised engineering qualification - a degree, ONC, City & Guilds, MBA/MS or comparable qualification and be able to demonstrate an existing track record in technical sales (min 2 years) of electrical / mechanical products selling to end customers for an original engineering manufacturer.
The hours of work will be 08 to 17 - Monday to Friday and you will be entitled to 4 weeks holiday per year (some to be taken during Christmas closure) plus statutory days.
