Our client has been developing and manufacturing consistent, efficient and cost-effective cleaning and hygiene products for almost 100 years. Its products cover an extensive range of applications for the industrial, janitorial, food process and animal health sectors. Established in 1919 and employing approximately 160 people, the company currently exports to 72 countries worldwide, with a further 10 countries serviced by licensed manufacturing units overseas.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Twilight Shift Production Manager to work on their site in Preston, 4:00pm - 11:45pm.

Managing the production filling and manufacturing operation to produce quality products, you will ensure they are produced efficiently and that Key Performance Indicators targets are achieved. Liaising with other departments internally and externally, you will ensure that the Production department complies with all its Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) responsibilities and lean manufacturing techniques. 

Conducting internal staff training and controlling all production personnel issues including absence monitoring, disciplinary issues, staff appraisals, staff recruitment etc. you will ensure that all housekeeping standards are adhered to, manage change within the production department.

With experience of working in a similar role, ideally in a Chemical environment, you will possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Candidates for this role will have the ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of staff coupled with leadership and people management skills.  A team driven ethos must be at the forefront. Experience of lean manufacturing production techniques, managing Health and Safety within a chemical blending and packaging environment would be beneficial in this role.

Managing and implementing continuous improvement techniques will be advantageous.
