Chief Executive Officer (Conservation Charity)
Henfield, Sussex
£70,000 dependent upon experience

Sussex Wildlife Trust was established in 1961, and is one of 46 county Wildlife Trusts throughout the UK, supported by over 30,000 members.  We own or manage 32 nature reserves covering an area of over 4,500 acres situated throughout East and West Sussex.

With a new vision, a refreshed strategy, an adopted business plan and healthy financial resources, we are in a strong position and poised for the next stage in our development. The Trust commands a high degree of respect across the conservation world for its strong advocacy, partnership working and its firm foundation of scientific evidence.

The new Chief Executive will have the opportunity to develop our vision and strategy and ensure that the objectives are delivered to achieve real impact for nature in Sussex over the coming years.  Strong leadership will ensure the implementation of our vision for Nature and Wellbeing.

You will work with a Board of Trustees to provide strategic direction and overall management of the Trust.  You will deliver our strategy, ensure policies are put into operational practice and inspire staff, volunteers and members to work towards our visions.

The successful candidate will already have excellent knowledge and enthusiasm for nature conservation and the wider environmental movement.  You should have a clear understanding of the governance and management of a charity along with a commitment to legacy thinking.

With senior leadership and strategic planning experience, you will be able to inspire, motivate and embrace a culture of shared endeavour.  We are looking for someone with a proven track record of developing strategic projects, implementing objectives, financial management and business planning.

If you have a high level of personal integrity, a commitment to wildlife conservation and the skills to manage organisational change, we would love to hear from you.
