An exciting opportunity has arisen with West Suffolk Councils to become a Senior Park Ranger You will join our Parks and Open Spaces Team in the Forest Heath District of West Suffolk on a Full Time, Annualised hours basis (1929 hours per year, on a set rota) and will receive a competitive salary of £24,174 - £29,323 per annum depending on qualifications/experience (potentially rising to £29,323 through annual Performance Review awards)!

The Senior Park Ranger role:

The Senior Park Ranger will operate from Brandon Country Park and supervise a small team of Rangers. The new post holder will be joining the West Suffolk Parks team at an exciting period of transition following the County Council’s transference of the Brandon Country Park to the District Council. The West Suffolk Parks Team already manage a number of significant Parks & Open Spaces across West Suffolk including the Abbey Garden, Nowton Park, East Town Park, Aspal Close Nature Reserve.

Our parks and open spaces host a range of diverse events throughout the year including fireworks display, outdoor theatrical performances and music and so this role will involve working some unsociable hours and lone working so a flexible approach to working arrangements is essential.

The role is varied and will involve being a point of contact for the public helping and assisting the public, undertaking and supervising work both conservation works and horticultural works, carrying out patrols and site security, working with friends and volunteer groups and assisting in the running of events.
