The appointed Developer will support the design, development and testing of materials for summative and formative on-screen assessments, non-examined assessments (NEAs) and other e-submissions. The postholder will also help support other WJEC initiatives and awarded contracts involving on-screen delivery of content and tests into schools and colleges.
Principal duties and responsibilities
- To develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to offer clear advice and guidance on how ICT can be used to enhance on-screen assessments and contribute to the subsequent development of material for these assessments
- To develop and maintain relationships with internal departments concerned with the production of assessments
- To analyse requirements, develop ideas, interpret need and be innovative and creative in the development of e-assessments material
- To contribute to decisions regarding style, design and specification of e-assessments/e-submissions
- To author, develop and quality assure on-screen assessments and e-submissions
- To work to the tight deadlines imposed by the dates of the JCQ agreed examination timetables or deadlines imposed by other external agencies
- To work closely with other agencies and organisations that are involved in the creation, delivery and regulation of e-assessment
- To stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and how their application can support, develop and enhance e-assessments suited to all ages
- To provide help and support in delivering contracts awarded to WJEC involving on-screen delivery of content and tests, internally, to key stakeholders and intended customers
- To support the delivery of programmes of work, including liaison activity relating to trialling, piloting and evaluation of on-screen assessments.

- To contribute to the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new software releases
