We are currently looking to recruit a Business Administration Apprentice in our Information and Learning Services department, working throughout our seven outstanding Learning Resource Centres across the College.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to broaden their experience in a dynamic and friendly work environment whilst also learning and gaining a qualification at the same time. The role will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in customer service, digital and social media and general administration. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues each day.
You will primarily work within a busy and knowledgeable team of Learning Resource Facilitators, with the opportunity to work with our Information and Digital Practitioners. You will maintain daily links with teaching and support staff as well as students.
Day to day tasks could include dealing with library, retail, digital and equipment enquiries, operating a lending system, checking media equipment and contributing to our social media presence and marketing of our LRC services. You will also be involved in a range of administrative tasks such as cash handling, dealing with the post, photocopying, scanning and using booking systems.
You will gain experience of using Microsoft applications, using a variety of up to date technology and some content creation. There will be the opportunity to prepare and deliver a presentation within the workplace, evaluating a current team system and suggesting improvements, evaluating and redesigning a complex document and supporting/providing constructive feedback to a colleague. You will need to take charge of your own learning and development (completing training within an agreed budget).
Closing date: This vacancy will remain open until successful appointment.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure by the DBS.
