The Role:

They have a great opportunity for an Operator to join their global organisation. The successful candidate will be required to assist with vessel off loading, RTW loading and housekeeping duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Duties relating to the discharge of vessels including connection and disconnection of loading arms, hoses, the opening and closing of valves at the facility as directed and in compliance with ISGOTT regulations
  • The monitoring of the vessels position alongside the jetty, the ships moorings, gangway and the general ship management whilst alongside the barge
  • The maintenance of facility logs and paperwork to ensure concise handovers are undertaken
  • To understand and operate within the control standards at the work area
  • To assist RTW drivers in the safe loading of bitumen products
  • To ensure the correct grades of bitumen are loaded onto RTW's
  • To ensure that the correct paperwork is generated and given to RTW drivers
  • To participate in plant emergency exercises
  • General housekeeping duties
  • To comply with the ISPS code at all times ensuring that all personnel leaving or entering the facility are checked, their identity confirmed and the nature of the business confirmed
  • To have a flexible approach to be able to support the priorities of the business

Candidate's Requirements:

The successful candidate will have good working knowledge of terminal, marine and jetty operations,

The successful candidate should have the ability to carry out physically demanding work, the majority of which is outdoors on a 24/7 rota.

In addition the ideal candidate will

  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, able to develop positive working relationships with people at all levels, both with colleagues and the client.
  • Be able to adopt a flexible approach to work priorities and react effectively to changing environment.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision and a degree of autonomy.
  • Be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with a good level of numeracy and literacy.

The post holder will be required to board vessels at sea, therefore for health and safety purposes the successful candidate must be able to swim.
