Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Inspector to join our team in London. The successful applicant will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a salary of £37,704 - £44,000 per annum.

As our Senior Mechanical Inspector you would be responsible for the day to day management and development of the area/department and its employees by setting, reviewing, monitoring and improving the targets and activities carried out thereby ensuring that business objectives are met. To carry out inspections including resident surveys of gas and mechanical projects and provide advice on various mechanical issues, auditing the contractor’s servicing and breakdown work and auditing of landlord gas safety records.

Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Inspector:

- Effectively and proactively lead, manage and motivate the team ensuring that there is a culture of high performance, strong engagement and a commitment to continual improvement
- Recruit, manage and appraise employees thereby ensuring the provision of an effective, efficient and well-motivated team
- Establish and implement effective working arrangements & practices to ensure a consistent level of service delivery in line with the Peabody business plan
- Monitor and review the internal and external environment to ensure compliance and best practice are adhered to
- Prepare, monitor and deliver individual and team targets/budgets in line with the Peabody business plan
- Ensure the provision of excellent customer service and experience to all stakeholders to maximise customer satisfaction
- Externally represent and promote Peabody effectively by creating a consistent, professional and positive image

 Skills/Experience required by the Senior Mechanical Inspector:

- Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills
- Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity
- Proven attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets
- ACS qualification Domestic
- City & Guilds training for legionella control
- Full UK drivers licence and use of vehicle
