Key Responsibilities:
Process/Procedures:
*Develop national and international processes and procedures processes to ensure compliance. Feed into the global processes (particularly supporting the US office) to share best practice.
*Ensuring a complete understanding of freight capabilities, insurance levels and costs and selecting the most appropriate freight method based on these factors.
*Build and manage relationships with HMRC, freight suppliers and internal departments to ensure good flow of information to manage movements as effectively and cost efficiently as possible while staying within regulations.
*To ensure that all invoices are checked and matched back to the import/export values and charged to the correct cost centres
Team Management:
*To overview the team tasks and ensure that administration is up to date, particularly focussing on:
oImport and export spreadsheets
oIPR/OPR process management
oFiling of Clearance Instructions in writing as they are issued.
*To support the team to deal with any shipping route complexities and to coach the team to be able to manage more complex issues themselves.
*To support Logistics Co-ordinators by 'checking in' and ensuring that there are sufficient resources within the team to complete tasks. To help Logistics Co-ordinators prioritise tasks as and when required.
*To support the team by undertaking all and any logistics activities when required at busy periods
*To take responsibility for ensuring that the team tidy and put away stock in the vault to help to manage stock accuracy
Shows/Special Events:
*To take ownership of special events logistics, including trade shows
*To advise the relevant parties of best form of transportation and related costs.
*To advise of any special requirements ie if certificate or origin required or any tax implication etc.
*To ensure stock arrives at location in a timely and cost efficient manner, including follow up and communication with sales and merchandising.
*Must ensure all jewellery is packed and transported securely and protected from being damaged.
Experience, knowledge & skills:
*Previous experience of shipping/logistics essential
*Good spoken and written English
*Highly motivated and proactive
*Excellent Problem Solving skills
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Proven experience of working to deadlines
*Detail orientated
*Excellent organisational skills
*Ability to work under pressure
*Excellent computer skills, particularly Word & Excel
