Sessional Shop Assistant - Zero Hours ContractHours will be as and when required by the needs of the business.GBP8.45 per hourFixed Term ContractLocation: Whitehaven Shop and other shops within the Cumbria region as required by the needs of the business.Do you want to be a part of your local community and make a difference to the lives of disadvantage young people?We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing retail network - We have had the biggest growth in the sector!!Your role will make a real difference by helping to raise the vital funds needed to support our frontline work with the most disadvantaged young people in England.We are looking for a dedicated Shop Assistant to ensure that the shop/shops stay open full trading hours in the absence of the Shop Manager or the Assistant Shop Manager.This role is to cover one or more shops in a cluster, You will be responsible for the day to day running of the shop, assisting in the training of volunteers as well as planning and implementing internal/external sales promotion as and when required.A key part of this will be your ability to promote a happy and productive working environment amongst the volunteers to generate and maximise sales of donated and bought in stock. You will be responsible for ensuring that monies are banked daily & admin is completed and sent promptly to our head office.We are looking for someone who has ideally worked in the charity retail sector, has experience of cashing handling, excellent customer service skills, effective communication skills, commercial awareness, the drive to maximise sales, and able to lead a team effectively.If you have what it takes to help the most disadvantaged young people, then this is the place for you.The Children's Society runs over 100 local services that help thousands of young people who desperately need our support, and we campaign to get laws and policies changed to make children's lives happier and safer.Every day we're changing the lives of children in this country for the better - and with your help, tomorrow we can be there for even more.Vacancy closes midnight: 7/4/18Interviews will be held on: TBC
