Head of Policy (Environmental Charity) Edinburgh GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 per annum (depending on skills) For over 50 years, our client has worked with its members, partners and supporters in pursuit of its vision of healthy, resilient ecosystems across Scotland's land and seas. The Trust successfully champions the cause of wildlife through policy and campaigning work, demonstrates best practice through practical conservation and innovative partnerships, and inspires people to take positive action through its education and engagement activities. They manage a network of 120 wildlife reserves across Scotland. The Head of Policy will ensure that they achieve a positive and lasting impact through high quality, innovative and evidence-based policy and advocacy work in pursuit of their vision for Scotland's wildlife and people. Leading the Policy team, you will work to create clear policies which form the basis of their advocacy and practical conservation work. You will identify and develop opportunities for innovate, impactful advocacy and campaigns to help further the Trust's visions and goals, also leading on all parliamentary work. The role will require you to build trusted relationships with senior civil servants, parliamentarians, land managers, NGOs and other key stakeholders. You will also represent the Trust in the media, at events and in meetings, some of which may include UK, EU or international dimensions. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of achievement in a policy advocacy environment. You will be a strategic and innovative thinker with natural leadership skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and challenges. Knowledge and understanding of key Scottish Government priorities, Scottish public affairs and environmental governance structures is essential.
