Legal Accounts Clerk / Accounts Assistant, GBP25-30k, based Middlesbrough town centre. Must have knowledge of Solicitor's Accounts Rules. Immediate start available.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Accounts Clerk / Accounts Assistant to join a Middlesbrough based practice. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role and be able to maintain the office and client account records in compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules. The ability to work to strict deadlines and strong IT skills are essential. Legal aid work accounts experience is highly desirable.

Legal Accounts Clerk / Accounts Assistant key duties:

* Posting Client and Office entries
* Banking and processing BACS payments
* Reconciling bank statements
* VAT Returns
* Sage Payroll and pensions
* Production of management information
* Production of budgets and cash flow spreadsheets
* Processing legal aid CWA bulk load submissions
* Reconciling weekly legal BACS statement
* Reconciling the monthly legal aid financial statement
* Renewal of firm's supplier contracts
* Renewal of insurances and practicing certificates
* Billing
* Purchase ledger
* Monitoring the secure email service
* Setting up new starters to include emails, case management system, LAA and secure emails
* Supervising staff training
* Practise Management to include liaising with contracts manager, bank managers, and accountants
* Franchise Management to include dealing with audit preparation and ensuring compliance throughout
