Engineering Director (Software Development & QA). Take on a senior, high profile position for one of the UKs leading travel eCommerce companies and have a great deal of influence on the future success.
Following a period of reorganisation this global travel eCommerce group is currently seeking an Engineering Director to head up multidisciplinary software development teams both in the UK and offshore; youll have around 150 reports and will report in to the CTO in the UK.
As Engineering Director youll have a wide remit to define and establish strategy,
frameworks and organisation / resource management. Youll drive the usage and continual improvement of Agile methodologies, optimising delivery estimates and improving quality. Youll partner with the Programme Director and product based teams to plan budgets and resources; signing off recruitment plans and be responsible for people development including managing performance and pay reviews.
Utilising your technical background youll be encourage to innovate, use the latest tools and technologies, share knowledge and collaborate across the organisation to bring expertise.
This Engineering Director role presents an excellent opportunity to work on an ambitious multitenant, multichannel B2B travel system (supporting the B2C websites that currently receive 1 million unique visitors p/week / 600 requests a second and are highly transactional).
Offices based in South West London / Surrey, informal, collegiate team environment (casual dress code, regular social events).
Requirements:
*Proven track record within a large eCommerce with product delivery experience for projects of c. GBP5m and / or programmes to GBP20m delivered across multiple geographies
*Experience of managing large diverse teams of 100+
*Thorough understanding of strategic issues
*Ability to ask as a technical authority on the development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
*Experience of coordinating external partners
*Advanced communication, presentation skills
As Engineering Director you will earn a competitive salary (to GBP140k) plus bonus and benefits package.
