The Senior Cloud Engineer will be part of theCentral Infrastructure Core Engineering team develop the core toolingand platforms based on cloud computing infrastructure that underpin theElsevier products and platforms (ScienceDirect, Mendeley, Scopus to namea few). The role We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Senior Cloud Engineer whowill assist in the design of a functional and maintainable platform on.You will be joining a core team in our Central London offices to helpdeliver highly available platform for software solutions. This is anexciting opportunity to play a leading role in changing the way that webproducts are delivered within the company, devising and implementing amodern approach to software engineering that enables continuous deliveryand releases features on-demand. The role holder will have excellent stakeholder management skills asyoull be part of the Core Engineering team supporting the centralinfrastructure teams who use agile management and engineering practices. Key Tasks Build and maintain the right cloud infrastructure architecture,balancing performance and resilience with cost. Work on projects as wide ranging as: o Building and maintaining a set of tools that enable developers toself-serve for most operational tasks o Defining, and building enterprise platform tools o Building and maintaining an auditing and reporting estate thatprovides all relevant information on current and historic working stateof infrastructure. Key Skills / Experience AWS deployment at scale with a high level of architecturalunderstanding of the AWS offering (MUST) Experience of working in an agile environment Excellent Linux experience at scale Security and compliance understanding Agile experience with Scrum / Kanban / XP Ability to work on several work streams with excellent timemanagement Excellent team player Able to formulate and execute solution to take into consideration theneeds of multiple stakeholders A positive, constructive approach with an emphasis on collaborationand good execution Experience of managing industrial bespoke service based cloud infrastructure Experience with Software Engineering (preferably in the JVM) In Depth knowledge of continuous integration and/or delivery The following are desirable but not essential for consideration Knowledge of: Terraform Puppet Scala Python Docker CKAN - provided by Dice AGILE, AWS, BIG DATA, CLOUD, CLOUD COMPUTING, DOCKER, JVM, KANBAN, LINUX, PUPPET, PYTHON, SCALA, SCRUM, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING, STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
