We are a global team operating a cross-asset systematic market making business covering FX, commodities, interest rates, and credit. Team members combine engineering, research and trading expertise to deliver liquidity solutions for our clients and advance the division's electronic trading goals.
Your Impact
As a strategist in the Securities Division, you will play an integral role on the trading floor. You may create models to provide insight into market behavior, or develop automated trading algorithms for the firm and its clients. You might be involved in designing and developing complex parallel computing architectures, electronic trading tools, and advanced algorithms. Throughout the Securities Division, strategists are using quantitative and technological techniques to solve complex business problems.

As a Controls Engineer, you will collaborate closely with other engineers and traders to maintain an orderly, safe and reliable trading system. Analyze trading software logic, controls and procedures, and generate ideas to improve the safety and reliability of trading systems. Document algorithmic trading controls and activities for consumers both inside and outside of the team. Handle ongoing dialogue and coordinate with control functions across the firm, e.g. compliance, legal, risk and audit. Typical tasks include designing and implementing new controls, responding to information requests from control function stakeholders, and managing work to address follow-ups to production incidents and other operational risk events.

Basic Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in either an electronic trading business role or a related control function
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of risk and controls in the context of capital markets
- Strong software engineering background, a hands-on developer
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to comfortably discuss technical topics with non-specialist audiences and produce lucid technical documentation
- Independently driven and highly organized, able to prioritize and meet simultaneous competing demands
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with an object oriented programming language in an enterprise environment
- Experience of managing projects, and building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
- Existing experience of, or a willingness to learn about, market dynamics and conventions, and of different products' behaviors and specifications
- Knowledge of, and an interest in, developments in the global financial regulatory environment
- Knowledge of data and statistical analysis
- Associate / VP level
