Glasgow Credit Union is the largest and most successful credit union in the UK. Established as a financial mutual in 1989, Glasgow Credit Union offers loans, savings and mortgages. Membership is exclusively available to people who live or work in the Glasgow 'G' postcode area, which covers much of the previous Strathclyde Region and is known as the "common bond". Glasgow Credit Union has current assets of GBP151 million.

A major transformation programme to modernise and improve customer service is underway. Glasgow Credit Union require an accomplished Chief Executive to provide support and guidance to the Board, develop and implement new strategies whilst also presiding over the organisation's day to day operations ensuring it meets it statutory and regulatory requirements.

You will be an innovative, solutions focused and visionary leader with experience of leading an organisation or business function to deliver against key strategic priorities. You will possess exceptional people skills along with an in-depth understanding of the legislative framework, governance and compliance arrangements applicable to the finance industry. With the ability to meet the Approved Person requirement for a Credit Union you will have exceptional communication, negotiating and influencing skills that will be indispensable in guiding the organisation through a period of significant change with regards to the ongoing challenges of increased governance and new legislation.
