JOB TITLE: Estimator
SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive
WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
THE COMPANY: Our client is a well-established company based in Leighton Buzzard
who are a main contractor in building construction and refurbishment (mainly for the Council and local architects). They also offer a one stop shop for design and build. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Estimator to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities for the Estimator role:-
This role will be supported by managers and all work and pricing will be checked prior to being released.
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Estimator will be highly organised with the ability to work under your own initiative. You will be a motivated individual and be able to work independently. You ideally will live within a commutable distance to Leighton Buzzard.

- Accurate taking off
- Proactive support to existing staff and managers
- Site surveys prior to undertaking estimate
- Identifying key trades & materials for a project
- Tendering to sub contractors
- Understanding & negotiating materials prices
- Formulating specifications
- Price checking with suppliers
- Helping with procurement of materials
- Meeting clients
- General support to staff
- Possible day release for further education
This role will be supported by managers and all work and pricing will be checked prior to being released.
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Estimator will be highly organised with the ability to work under your own initiative. You will be a motivated individual and be able to work independently. You ideally will live within a commutable distance to Leighton Buzzard.
Key skills and experience for the Estimator role:-
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in general construction as an estimator required
- Know the principals of measuring accurately as a professional estimator
