Our Coffee Shop is a vibrant central hub of the College, serving great snacks and drinks through the day. 

During term time, we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for students, staff, fellows and conference guests, making it a great place for socialising and relaxed study. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a mature and enthusiastic supervisor to lead the small team in delivering great quality coffee, tea and food in pleasant, friendly surroundings.

The role

The Coffee Shop team comprises the Supervisor, Trainer, two Coffee Shop Assistants and casual workers from time to time. Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, the Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the full operations of the Coffee shop, from preparation and cleaning, stock control and ordering to managing the rota and serving drinks, meals and snacks, ensuring the highest standards are achieved at all times. 

Conditions of employment

The Coffee Shop Supervisor is a full-time post, working 37.5 hours per week, five days out of seven, with every other weekend off. The shifts vary between 7.00am and 7.00pm, and therefore some flexibility is required. During vacation periods, the Coffee Shop is much quieter, with shorter opening hours and occasionally the Supervisor may be required to work as part of the general Catering team in the main dining hall and other areas of the College, during these periods. 

The annual salary is £20,739, and benefits include a generous discretionary bonus scheme, 33 days’ annual leave including public holidays, free meals on duty, enrolment into a contributory Group Personal Pension Scheme, uniform and car parking on site, subject to availability. 

Any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of the right to live and work in the UK and satisfactory references. The appointment will be made subject to a six-month probationary period.
