Overall purpose of role

o Working within the Treasury Transformation team deliver well designed and well coordinated change into the Treasury business units relating to the Treasury Data Service infrastructure. Responsibility will be business/data analysis across to all Treasury functions in line with the 2018 commitments. It is anticipated that there will be circa 2 year build out of the platform followed but running the platform. Following that, further project assignments will be provided.

o Drive change and set the direction for the required feature set of the Treasury Data Service infrastructure incorporating the needs of multiple stakeholders.

o Accountable for understanding all stakeholder needs, providing detailed product design specification by way of user stories and assisting in the prioritising of stories for submission to the feature team(s) building the software to balance the relative priorities of the stakeholders.

o Work within a "Product Owner Team" representing the needs of individual business stakeholders. The Product Owner team is a collaborative group who have collective responsibility to define the entire feature set of the Treasury Data Service. You will need to ensure the stakeholder needs are properly represented and get appropriate priority and also be ready to undertake detailed story creation for global, common features.

o Build a deep, trusting relationship with the treasury stakeholder community through establishing a delivery track record and demonstrating a deep understanding of their business processes. Ensure robust challenge on user needs in order to ensure the infrastructure is built to meet their most important needs and also act to protect the feature team from changes in priority/ambiguity and other inefficiencies.

Key Accountabilities

o Responsible for the authoring and detailed business content of user stories to drive the design and build of the system. You will be responsible for accurately documenting the required feature set that a stakeholder requests and working with Product Owners to get this prioritised.

o Responsible for attending agile ceremonies as required.

o Acts as a business analyst in a broader pool.

o Liaise with the various agile teams that will be performing the work and provide necessary guidance to ensure a coherent business outcome.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

o Stakeholders will include subject matter experts and senior managers from Vice President to Managing Director level in the Treasury and Treasury Transformation organizations.

o Successful candidate will be able to communicate clearly and concisely with senior stakeholders in the course of building the Treasury Data Service. Needs to be comfortable challenging stakeholders for clear business value in requested capabilities and ensuring the correct level of detail is provided in the user stories.

o Act as an ambassador for the transformation team overall and manage the stakeholder community as needed to protect the teams' needs and interests.

Decision-making and Problem Solving

Must be able to make timely decisions to enable the team's productivity and continual progress towards goals. Understand and promote the concept of incremental change.

Person Specification

Personal attributes essential to performing role including competencies, expertise, knowledge, and experience. Note: experience requirements must not be in the form of years (minimum or otherwise).

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

o Two years of experience on an Agile team, authoring and prioritizing user stories.

o Four years of experience in a Finance or Treasury role.

o Four years of business analysis experience.

o Fluent in Agile techniques and demonstrated experience in working within an agile environment, either as a product owner or as a team member having demonstrated high degree of agile fluency.

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

o Strong preference for prior Treasury or Finance (Product Control or Entity Control) knowledge, including ability to interpret and navigate charts of accounts, trial balances and balance sheet datasets.

o Strong preference for prior knowledge of a wide range of banking products, investment bank, retail and corporate.

o Strong preference for experience delivering a data-centric change initiative involving enterprise class data.

o Understanding big data concepts and being able to perform data analysis using Hive or similar data query interfaces advantageous.
