CFO, UK - blue chip advertising agency
Outstanding opportunity for a senior finance executive from the marketing communications sector to make the step to a major UK agency CFO.
Reporting to both the UK MD and the EMEA CFO, whilst managing a team of 25, you will oversee the finances of a highly developed, modern agency with a turnover in excess of GBP200m. Leading day to day finance operations and working closely with the Group Finance and Client Finance teams your focus will include forecasting, actuals, revenue and capacity tracking, analytics, compliance, capital expenditure, working capital, cash flow and numerous ad hoc projects.
Commercially the CFO will work very closely with the rest of the UK leadership team, helping to drive business performance, meet commitment objectives, monitor / align revenue to capacity and optimize the bottom line. The CFO will play a particularly strong hand in maintaining margins, on the revenue side by by helping to monetise new service offerings and negotiating improved contracts with clients and by addressing costs through property optimisation, process automation and streamlining, and taking close control over staff costs.
Applications are invited from finance professionals who must have extensive board level experience in either marketing services or another human capital business run on a similar model. It would be preferable if you have worked under a matrix reporting structure, ideally with a US based holding company.
Candidates must be comfortable operating both at board level, with the gravitas to influence discussion on strategic and business development, but also at a functional level, building relationships within finance, operations, commercial and throughout what is a highly creative, but technology savvy business.
You will require excellent management skills to develop a large and varied team, both within the immediate agency network and also the wider group.
We are also looking for extensive client finance experience, including face to face contact with the CMOs of major brands, as this will form a cornerstone of the CFO's role going forward.
This is a number one finance role in an agency that is a world-leader in its field, and is ideal for someone looking to stretch their talents beyond that of the traditional CFO and into the realms of Commercial Director.
