The Grocers' Livery Company is looking for an experienced and capable Grants Manager to take responsibility for the strategic direction and efficient operation of its grant-giving activities - from the receipt of the initial enquiry and grant application to the processing, selection and recommendation of grant applications to the decision-making Committee. You will be the primary contact with the grant applicants and the beneficiaries, which include schools, churches and other charitable organisations. Working with the Education and Charities Committee is a key aspect of the role and there will also be frequent collaboration with the finance team and with the Chief Executive, to whom the role reports. Additionally you will liaise with members of the Company regarding their donations and legacies, and will organise our annual Fundraising Gala, and two other events for the schools that we support. To succeed in this role, you will be a graduate with a background in grants management and a strong understanding of the grant management lifecycle. Previous experience of working with Committees will be useful but is not essential. You are a confident and polished professional, with exemplary financial, project management and IT/database skills (experience of Salesforce is desirable). A resourceful self-starter, you can prioritise and take responsibility for your own work without the need for close supervision. You are an articulate communicator with strong numerical and literary abilities, and a warm, confident telephone manner.
