My client Secondary School is looking for an enthusiastic and well qualified Design and Technology Teacher to contribute to the teaching within this highly successful department. The Design and Technology Teacher post is equally suitable for an NQT or a more experienced colleague who is looking for a new challenge. The Head Teacher welcomes applicants who are keen to work with high achieving and motivated students. The successful applicant will be expected to teach KS3, KS4 and to post 16 level. The new Design and Technology Teacher will be required to teach Resistant Materials but those talented Design and Technology Teachers with textiles, product design and electronics specialisms are also welcome to apply. You will pick up a timetable which will reflect your own specialisms.

This highly successful and heavily oversubscribed Teaching School with specialist status for Maths and ICT has been named in HMCI's report as 'outstanding'. Design and Technology is an outstanding department which achieves excellent examination results. In 2016, 90% of pupils achieved A*-C with 42% gaining A*-A.

The relatively large department of 5 Design and Technology Teachers are very proud of their attainment level achievements and you will help the team further develop their expertise. You will have a passion for teaching and you will be able to plan and teach inspirational lessons. By September 2017 the department will have the most state of the art facilities which will include 10 new science classrooms, two Technology workshops, two Catering rooms and an ICT suite with Apple macs. All will be equipped with the latest Technology such as laser cutters, a 3D printer and extremely well-resourced science laboratories.

The Secondary School is a mixed, over-subscribed school in the Maidstone area with approximately 1300 on roll.
