The role of JavaScript Developer:
We are looking for a JavaScript focused full stack or back-end engineer to join our consumer department in the heart of Soho. The consumer department has its own office in London and offers the opportunity of be a part of an independent team that combines a start-up mentality with the reach and scale of a multi-billion dollar parent company.
As a JavaScript Developer working within a small agile team, they will work on our suite of market leading consumer facing web and mobile properties, both under our own brands and for some of the most recognisable names on the web.
Application and API Development:
- Deliver modern, mobile-first, user focused web applications
- Develop HTML5 apps for mobile platforms
- Take responsibility for and have influence over the entire development process, from concept to deployment
- Build on and expand our nodejs partner API.
Data driven and UX focused:
- Turn ideas into high-quality, user-friendly products used by thousands every day
- Build experiments and iterate on the results to deliver market-leading experiences
- Track, measure and quantify changes in a data-driven design process
Best Practices:
- Produce sites ideal for our users, but also for search engines – employing structured micro-formats, progressive enhancement and semantic HTML
- Work with and improve on a modern development process with automated testing, CI, and a structured approach
Requirements for the JavaScript Developer role:
Primary Requirements
- Fantastic grasp of modern JavaScript
- NodeJS experience
- Experience building and working with data APIs
Desirable
- SEO Experience
- Experience working within an Agile team
- Experience working on production web properties at scale
- Exposure to HTM5 based mobile development
