Waking Night Support Worker

We have an exciting new vacancy for Waking Night Support Workers at a new residential home for children with autism in Redruth, Cornwall.

You will be working in a small home, up to 3 beds, that provides residential care and/or respite for children aged between 11 and 19 years old with autistic spectrum disorder, and who may have challenging behaviours. Your role will be to provide a safe and secure environment for children to learn, grow and improve their skills, and to prepare for adulthood in a way that is specific to each individual`s needs.

As Waking Night Support Worker you will ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children throughout the night, tending to any needs and managing and issues that arise.

Other duties will include:
Assisting with domestic tasks and personal care
Supporting with bedtime and morning routines
Admin tasks
Administering medication
Behaviour management

You will be working 40 hours per week, with shifts running 10pm - 8am, and working alternate weekends.
Pay rate for this role is £9 per hour on weekdays, and £10 on weekends. Benefits include:

To apply for this role you will need to have experience of working with children or adults with autism, and have a good understanding of autistic spectrum disorders. You will need to have, or be willing to work towards, a Diploma level 3 in Children`s Care (or equivalent).
Ideally you will be a driver with your own vehicle.
