We are looking for an animal technician, to join our friendly, hardworking team and be actively involved in the daily care and maintenance of aquatic animals (fish and xenopus) within our biofacility.
The job duties will involve general husbandry, looking after welfare requirements, record keeping, checking and recording environmental parameters, health monitoring, general hygiene and cleaning.
Ideally you will hold an Institute of Animal Technology Level 2 or equivalent qualification, or at least GCSE (A-C) in English, Maths and a Science subject (ideally Biology), or equivalent. It is also desirable that the successful candidate will be expected to hold, or be ready to apply for a Home Office personal license with Home Office modules A - C.
You should be positive, reliable and able to interact with team colleagues and research staff. Experience in a technical/laboratory setting is desirable, however specific experience working with fish and/or xenopus is essential.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and a security check.
