Cambridge Assessment International Education is looking for an experienced data analyst to join the small, specialist Technical and Statistical Data team within the Assessment Division. The Senior Analyst position is a new role which will provide additional expertise in data, analytics and statistical reporting to support the delivery of new and existing qualifications. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining SAS code, and ensuring that business critical, time sensitive statistical reports are available as required.

What you'll be doing
- Take responsibility for the design, delivery, testing and maintenance of data analysis and reporting processes, primarily using SAS.
- Undertake continuous improvement of existing SAS code, adding functionality in response to user feedback and business requirements.
- Provide analytical and statistical expertise to the Assessment Division and the wider business, to support decision making by senior managers, Product Managers and other colleagues.
- Collaborate across the business to increase efficiency through improved access to and use of data. Understand the impact of the new group-wide data strategy and implement relevant aspects of the strategy in Assessment Division, in collaboration with colleagues from other divisions and across the group.
- Provide input on behalf of Cambridge International into critical requirements gathering and functional specification phases of Cambridge Assessment's IT transformation programme.
- Support the development of knowledge and skills within the Technical and Statistical Data team.
- Deputise for the Head of Technical and Statistical Data as required.
What we're looking for
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a quantitative subject such as maths, science or engineering.
Essential
- Expertise in SAS programming, including writing queries to extract information from relational databases
- Highly numerate, with knowledge of common statistical measures
- Ability to deliver business-critical data and analytics services in a time-pressured context
- Ability to collaborate with a wide range of staff and communicate technical information clearly to specialists and non-specialists
- Methodical with excellent attention to detail
- Takes responsibility for identifying and solving problems
- SAS certification as Base Programmer or Advanced Programmer
- Advanced knowledge of statistical methods
- Understanding of the principles and processes of assessment
- Experience of version control software e.g. Git, SVN
- Experience of using SQL, R, VBA, PowerBI, SAP Business Objects
- Experience of using "big data" in Hadoop and/or in-memory analytics such as SAP HANA
