In the turbulent world of Oil & Gas this company has continued to maintain steady growth as others have struggled. Forging new markets in other industries enabling other companies to benefit from their innovative work in the subsea arena. The engineering department has now reached the size where an engineering manager is required to maintain quality and technical direction.

The Engineering Manager will have the following general responsibilities:-

• Act as technical authority with regard to the specification, design, installation and commissioning of subsea control systems and distribution hardware.
• Act as Approver for technical documents (electrical, mechanical and software) produced by the company's engineers.
• Act as technical Approver on quotations.
• Drive a process of continual improvement in the quality of technical documents delivered by the company.
• Write design specifications, user manuals, and test, installation and commissioning procedures for subsea systems and components.
• Undertake conceptual designs, FEED studies, and field expansion studies.
• Manage the conduct of electrical and hydraulic analyses to optimise subsea system performance and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
• Review the technical requirements of customer tender requests, ensuring technical compliance and detailing technical exceptions and clarifications.
• Produce technical reports, prepare schedules, and develop cost estimates.
• Develop technical solutions to meet scope of supply requirements in compliance with contract specifications, and applicable international standards.
• Compile and present technical presentations and papers for conferences and trade shows.
• Identify new and innovative solutions to meet current and future market demands.

The successful candidate will have Previous Experience in the following areas:-

• Experience managing a multi-disciplined engineering team.
• Experience in the design, specification, and installation of Subsea Control Systems - understanding the alternative control system architectures and how system performance can be optimised.
• Competence and confidence in managing multi-disciplinary engineering tasks, involving mechanical, electrical/electronic, optical, and software components.
• A broad understanding of the oil and gas exploration and production business.
• A high level of commercial acumen.
• Detailed knowledge of the relevant international standards for the design of subsea control systems along with a good working knowledge of QHSE related requirements for the subsea oil & gas industry.
• A proven track record of having responsibility for delivering on technical and commercial commitments in either project engineering or system design.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in subsea or offshore engineering.
• Experience of working offshore.
• Relevant project engineering experience in managing engineering interfaces and working directly with clients and suppliers.
• Excellent documentation writing skills.

As a minimum the successful candidate will have the following qualifications:-
• A degree or HND qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or other related engineering discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
