Head of Finance

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to join our Resources department. Working in an upbeat and dynamic environment, you will report to our Director of Resources and will manage the operations, outputs and performance of the Finance team. Combat Stress was established in 1919. We are the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For almost a century, we've helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today we provide UK-wide support to veterans from every service and every conflict, on the phone and online, in the community and at our treatment centres. We're on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So when a veteran is having a tough time, we're there to help tackle the past and to take on the future. In this role, you will be working closely with various departments within Combat Stress as we implement a new five-year strategic plan at a time of substantial growth and development. To be successful, you will be a qualified accountant with significant Charity sector experience. You will have detailed knowledge of the Charity Commission requirements, Governance issues, charity VAT and other statutory issues pertaining to a Charity. You will also have a proven track record in managing, leading and inspiring teams, including effective delegation, coaching and performance management.
