IT Systems Support Engineer

A position for a IT Systems Support Engineer, The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self learner and willing to work as a part of team from our office in Braintree. You will need to have excellent communication and organisation skills, ability to work under pressure and a flexible approach to changing work tasks.

With and excellent knowledge IT related technologies and a can-do approach this is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week.

 

IT Systems Support Engineer Role

We are looking for a confident and experienced support engineer to work within a driven and dedicated technical team. With excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and methods you will assist in taking calls and offering 1st and 2nd line IT support for a varied group of end users in an efficient, expedient and professional manner.

You will also research products and solutions and maintain client and technical documentation as an integral part of the role. As the business requires you would attend client sites and work occasional evening and weekend hours. This role will suit a highly motivated self learner, willing to work as a part of team and ready to try new approaches to problems.

The Package

  • 37.5 hour working week
  • 20 days holiday per year + public holidays increasing after 3 years’ service

Qualifications & Experience

Essential 

  • Minimum 3 years experience in IT Support Services environment
  • 5 GCSE or equivalent passes

Desirable

  • Microsoft or other IT relevant qualification

Essential

  • Windows OS
  • Windows Server 2008-2012R2
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010 / 2013
  • VPN, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies and Active Directory administration
  • Hyper V
  • Networking
  • Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Linux experience
  • SQL experience
  • MAC OS
  • Cloud / Backup services
  • ‘Mobile’ devices support

Personal Skills

  • Minimum 3 years experience in either IT helpdesk environment or IT Support department
  • Enthusiasm for technology
  • Positive and flexible attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Able to manage time and meet deadlines and targets
  • Smart appearance
  • Current driving licence / use of vehicle
  • Willingness to undertake training and development
