Job Elements

·Reporting to the C.I. Manager the role will be responsible and accountable for continuously improving products and process to positively impact quality, cost, safety and delivery.

·The role is proactive in leading continuous improvement activities adopting the never ending improvement philosophy

·Will provide Continuous Improvement support to Operations Department ensuring consistent application of quality techniques to include:

o Resolving quality issues of product capability, surface finish, and shape related issues.

o Will close out quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.

o Determine process stability and capability studies to be performed on existing processes, reviewing and analysing the results to recommend changes.

o Support maintenance of PFMEA, Control Plans and SOPs throughout the life of the parts.

·Responsible for the facilitation and promotion of the use of appropriate problem solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action to include:

o Coordination with Technical, Engineering, & Operations personnel to resolve customer complaints and concerns.

o Leading PPM improvement plan for strategic customers or processes applying appropriate statistical tools

·Will provide technical and practical support to coordinate and implement improvement initiative’s through the Employee Suggestion scheme.

The ideal candidate will have:

·Will demonstrate professional advancement in a manufacturing environment, preferably qualified to degree level in an Engineering subject.

·Will have an intuitive understanding of manufacturing processes.

·Demonstrable proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.

·Strong understanding of lean principles and problem solving tools

·Will be able to demonstrate excellent presentation skills – written and verbal

·PC literate with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience of using other quality software applications is beneficial. (e.g. statistical analysis)

·Willingness to undertake continuous professional development.
