Job Title: Operational Risk Analyst

Location: London

Salary: £30-£40k. Plus discretionary bonus; 29 days holiday, BUPA and Pension.

Working for a small standalone foreign Bank in the City Of London (Nearest tube Bank). The Bank has approximately 100 staff and is looking for an Operational Risk Analyst to join the Risk Department. This role will work closely with the Chief Risk Officer and his Deputy.

Main Purpose of the role:


  • Work closely with business risk owners to identify, analyse, review and document risks in line with the Operational Risk Management Framework & Risk Assessment process
  • Monitor Operational Risk events, assisting business units in their remediation plans, tracking to closure, evidencing and documenting compliance
  • Monitor and track Operational Losses, following up with departmental heads and review for future potential losses
  • Prepare Management Information reports as required, maintaining an accurate audit trail of all records
  • Assist in the development and embedding of the Operational Risk Management function into the culture at GHIB

    • Operational Risk Analysts Key responsibilities / accountabilities


  • Support and enhance Risk Management capabilities and handle the day to day Operational Risk Management duties within the Risk team
  • Monitor, track and report on Operational Risk issues on regular basis
  • Review, analyse and prepare qualitative/quantitative risk assessments and reports as required
  • Prepare and maintain Risk Management documentation including Risk reports, audit trails and policies
  • Assist in the implementation and embedding of an Operational Risk System
  • Support the businesses in the identification, assessment and treatment of Operational Risks.
  • Develop risk identification tools relevant for GHIB; develop risk assessment tools; and develop risk monitoring and reporting tools relevant for the Bank.
  • Assist in the implementation and embedding of an Operational Risk System
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a Consolidated Risk Register at GHIB and its linkage into the ICAAP.
  • Monitor the Bank's risk exposure relative to risk appetite and tolerance. Report any excesses and new or emerging risks to the CRO
  • Provide timely updates of Operational Risk issues and decisions to Management
  • Maintain the Consolidated Risk Register
  • Perform Operational Risk Assurance over departmental Risks and Controls once ORMF fully embedded at GHIB

    • Other MS applications: Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Email and Internet
